Theresa Rose Smith

Theresa Rose Smith, age 85, of Norwalk, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at Gaymont Care & Rehabilitation.

She was born June 22, 1934 in Norwalk to the late Willard F. and Helen G. (Hay) Ott. She was a life-long member of St. Alphonsus Parish in Peru. She loved photography and was lovingly known as a “picture taker”. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing cards, playing bingo, and decorating her church with flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Joann (Michael) Meyer of Monroeville, Doris (Rick) Whitehouse of Florida, Rose (Dave) Stanley of Norwalk, Patricia (Troy) Wilhelm of Fremont, and Karen (Steven) Littlejohn of Bellevue; sons, Mike (Sherry) Smith of Monroeville, David (Jenny Cadwell) Smith of Norwalk, and Joe (Jenny) Smith of Monroeville; brothers, Frances “Buff” (Karen) Ott and Marcellus “Pete” (Ruth) Ott; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Smith, in 2007; and brother, Wilbert Ott.

Family and friends may call on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 10:30 AM, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 1322 Settlement Road, Norwalk with Reverend Ronald Schock officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
