Jeffery D. Kronewitter

Jeffery Dean Kronewitter, age 63, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026.

He was born January 26, 1963, in Michigan to the late Joseph and Kay (Crankshaw) Kronewitter. He served in the US Army from 1979 until 1989, and was active locally with the VFW, Knights of Columbus, Am Vets, American Legion, Mensa Club and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, history, scary movies, coin collecting, attending flea markets and was known as a very patriotic person.

He is survived by his wife, Candy Kronewitter to whom he married May 5, 1990; children, Mindy Kracht, Christopher, Kronewitter, Julie Kronewitter, Jefferson Kronewitter, Jonathan Klunder, and Tiffany Klunder; grandchildren, Tyler (Erica), Zachary, Ashleigh; brothers, Kevin Kronewitter and Larry Kronewitter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Joe Kronewitter and Cork Kronewitter; and his son-in-law, Jim Kracht. 

A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 200 Woodlawn Avenue, Norwalk. A luncheon will follow at Norwalk VFW Post 2743. Also a celebration of Jeff’s life will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, starting at 4:00 P.M. at the Knights of Columbus, Norwalk.

Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to any of the local veteran organizations in Jeff’s name.

I am saddened by the passing of Uncle Jeff. He was a swell guy. I always enjoyed spending time with him. He was a wealth of knowledge. Had a spectacular sense of humor, an all around good guy. He will be missed.

Family, I am so sorry for you loss.
I only had the privilege of meeting uncle Heff a couple times, he was always a great guy to be around.
