Albert "Al" Good, Sr.
September 25, 2025

Albert "Al" H Good Sr, 79, of Collins, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
Born July 18, 1946, in Norwalk, Al was the son of the late Cyril and Lyla (Reiter) Good Sr. He graduated from Western Reserve High School in 1965 and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, earning the Purple Heart and several other commendations for his service during the Vietnam War.
Al was a longtime member of the Norwalk VFW Post 2743, American Legion Post 41, and the Vietnam Veterans Association, where he held several officer positions over the years. He was also a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
He worked at Routh Packing for 31 years before retiring but never stopped farming—something he did with passion throughout his life. Al also played on the Groton dart-ball team and found great joy in spending time with family, especially supporting his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events.
Always quick to lend a hand, Al was known in the community for his generosity and skill with tools. Whether fixing tractors, helping neighbors, or fishing with his grandkids in the pond he built himself, he was happiest when he was outdoors and surrounded by loved ones. He was rarely seen without a smile and had a talent for lifting spirits with his laughter and playful jokes.
Al is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Judith A. (Grathwol) Good; his children, Joan (Michael) Tommas, Albert (Rachel) Good Jr., and Peter (Kandis) Good; and grandchildren, Nicholas Tommas, Nathan Tommas, Jacob Good, Caitlin Szabo, Ashlyn Tommas, Noah Good, Helmut Wheeler, and Teylar Wheeler. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Rayna, Santiago, and Archer; siblings Rosemary Bistline, Arthur Good, Peggy Brenner, and Alice Alberts; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his siblings William "Robert" Reiter, Cyril Good Jr., and Charles Good.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, with Father Anthony Recker officiating. Burial will follow at Hartland Ridge Cemetery in Collins.
