Jean Hope Samples

Jean Hope (Thomas) Samples, age 86, of Norwalk, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born January 24, 1939, in Clay, West Virginia to the late Harry and Mary Alice (Jones) Thomas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and made custom draperies for many years. At the young age of 80 years old she began working at Family Life Services as a secretary in Norwalk. She was an avid Cleveland Cavaliers fan and gardener and enjoyed traveling to casinos and West Virginia to visit her childhood home and family.
She is survived by her children, Stephanie Babcock of Dade City, FL, Lisa Wallen of Sandusky, and Buddy Samples of Norwalk; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her brother, Stephen Thomas of Clay, WV.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and children, Mike Samples, Jeanette Samples-Pierce, and John Samples; her siblings, Angelo, Aileen, Joyce and Carolyn.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 3:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Private interment will be held at a later date.
