Allan C. Weilnau

Allan C Weilnau, aged seventy-five, passed away in his home on August 24, 2021.
He was born on September 7, 1945 in Norwalk, OH to the late Howard and Catherine Weilnau.

Al graduated from Milan High School in 1963. He then attended The Ohio State University, graduating with a degree in Animal Science in 1967. He worked as a federal meat inspector for many years, then went on to pursue his lifelong dream of raising organic vegetables. He continued in organic farming until his health no longer allowed him to follow that dream.

What Al really loved more than anything was fishing. He passed this love to his son, and there were many trips on Lake Erie and the Huron River with his brother, Sparky, and his uncles Harold and John Romell. Nothing made him happier than having a big Northern pike or bluegill on the line, except maybe two catfish at once or three Lake Erie perch!

Al is survived by his son, Bill of Bellevue; daughter, Kate (Tim Ely) of Coldwater, Michigan; brothers, David and Sparky; and ex-wife, Mary Jo Weilnau of Milan.

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Lauretta Wilcox-Weilnau and his parents, Howard and Catherine (Romell) Weilnau.

Pastor Rick Kennison will officiate at a brief memorial service to be held at the pond on the family farm in Milan on Sunday, September 5, at 6:00 P.M. Friends and relatives are all welcome to attend this celebration of Al’s life.

Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
