Gerald Weisenberger

Gerald R “Tex” Weisenberger, age 72, of Norwalk, passed away April 4, 2020 at his residence.

He was born May 18, 1947 in Norwalk to Robert J. and Clara May Weisenberger. He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1965 and attended Oberlin School of Commerce. He worked at the former Bell Dairy in Norwalk, Super X Drug Store in Norwalk, Falhauber in Monroeville, and retired after 30 years as an auditor for the State of Ohio. He was an avid sports fan of high school and Cleveland sports. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, dart ball and sponsoring the annual Tex open golf tournament. He belonged to the Sandusky ski club and served previously as president. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Boosters club. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council 626, American Legion post 41, VFW Post 2743 and Eagles Aerie 711, all of Norwalk.

He is survived by his siblings, Cathy (Lester) Tucker of Collins, James F. Weisenberger of Norwalk, Charles “Pucky” Weisenberger of Norwalk and Rita (Fred) Bender of Norwalk; nieces and nephews, Sherry Naegele, Charles (Mitzi) Tucker, Jeffrey Pridemore and Steven Pridemore; great- nieces and nephews, Trevor Tucker, Masyn Naegele and Ethan Tucker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Eugene and Olive (Reister) Englert; paternal grandparents, Fredrick and Edna (Stoll) Weisenberger; and three nieces in infancy.

A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date at St. Paul Catholic Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.
