Clifford Slone

Clifford Slone, age 73, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 13, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born June 15, 1944 in Floyd County, KY to the late Irvin and Rebecca (Thornsberry) Slone. He worked at Ford Motor Co in Lorain for 33-1/3 years. He enjoyed working on cars in his garage, playing the guitar and singing with his grandkids. He was known as a loving Dad and Paw Paw and loved the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marsha (Stanfield) Slone, whom he married on July 14, 1962; children, Tamera Cook of Norwalk, Clifford Todd Slone of Circleville, Terri (Chris) Barman of Norwalk and Christopher Slone of Norwalk; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Juanita Johnson of Woodhaven, MI, Cleophas Slone of Hustonville, KY, Elveta Jowett of Atascadero, CA, Aaron Slone of North Fairfield and Nawana Paniccia of Chatsworth, CA; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Tammy Slone; and siblings, Roscoe Slone, Clarinda Snipes and Gary Slone.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Vince Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

So sorry for your loss. Clifford was a great guy and always fun to be around. He was always good to us kiddies. I know he is shining with God's Glory now.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of such a wonderful sweet man. I have so many fond memories of Clifford and I feel honored to have been able to have called him uncle for 23 years.. Love and prayers to you all in your time of sorrow.
