Lee Rice

Clarence “Lee” Rice, age 84, residing in Lake Placid, FL and formerly of Norwalk, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 29, 1933 in Crawfordsville, IN and was a graduate of Lakeview High School in Lakeview, OH. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 until 1956. He retired after many years at Norfolk and Western Railroad in Norwalk, OH and then moved to Lake Placid, FL. Lee enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, while sharing a good laugh. He also enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting, followed up by a cold Miller Lite.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jackie (Hunton) Rice of Lake Placid, FL; children, Bev (Jerry) Rockwell of Norwalk, OH, Charlie (Chasity) Rice of Morganton, NC and Chris (Kristen) Rice of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, Travis Drake, Trenton Drake, Jacqui (Rockwell) Homan, Kelsey (Rice) Pawsat, Alex Rice, Maya Rice, Makena Rice and Ashley Rice; and 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn (Bill) Braddock of Norwalk and William (Lydia) Rice of Norwalk.

Private interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk, and a Celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
